Beauty Tipsby Jessica GuernseyThe Blushing Bride Want stronger nails for the big event? Starting as soon as possible, eat or drink plenty of gelatin and drum your nails on hard surfaces as often as you can (without driving family, friend or fiancee crazy). Also, cut your nails down. We know how much this seems against the goal, but if you want strong nails, you have to get rid of the weak ones. Strong nails grow faster than the brittle. You may want to take a small bag with some emergency supplies with you to the temple and the reception. Include the basic cosmetic needs (mascara, eyeliner, cover-up, lipstick, powder) as well as hair fixers (traveler's size hair spray, bobby pins, pick or comb), clear nailpolish and a nail file. A quick touch-up may be needed after the cake-cutting, especially if icing ends up in your eye. Perfume is a wonderful accent to beauty. However, we have known brides who seem to bathe in fragrance before the wedding. Heavy scenting may cause others to stand a little farther away and leave you with a headache. Use in moderation. The most important beauty tip we can offer is to take a few moments to close your eyes, take a deep breath and let your happiness just wash over you. Your joy will shine through, making you more radiant than any elaborate hairstyle or expensive make-up could ever manage. Congratulations to the beautiful bride and groom! |
